BKBIET at a Glance


The Institute

With the blessings of Lord Ganesha, Bhoomi Poojan of the Institute “BKBIET” was held on 5th Oct. 2005. Dr. P.S. Bhatnagar, Director BKBIET performed the bhoomi poojan. The Institute is sprawled in 15 acres of land located in the vicinity of BTTI, CEERI and BITS campus.

Dr.(Smt) Sarala Ji Birla inaugurated the Institute in the presence of Syt B K Birla, Madama Zennet Zewide, Ambassador , Embassy of Ethiopia and Swami Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj.


Administrative Block

Spread over an area of 8600 sft. The administrative block in houses the Director’s chamber which is elegantly designed and furnished to give quixotic look.  Beside it is the beautifully decorated meeting room which is used to hold meetings and seminars. The other side of the block has the offices dealing with students’ profiles, an accounting section, stores and estate offices.

 

 

Academic Block

Contemporary looks of the administrative block speak about the vision of the Institute ahead of time and mindset to model the student according to the latest trends and scenario of the world. The spacious class rooms provide an apt environment for studies. To give a feeling of being an engineering student, the classrooms, labs and corridors are bejeweled technically, which gives every bit of knowledge and information to the students.

 

 

Workshop

The highly equipped workshop is unique in features. Spread over an area of 13,000 sft, the workshop includes Fitting shop, Smithy shop and Carpentry shop. The workshop is housed with the latest Lathe, Milling, Shaping, Shearing, Welding and many more machines of international and national companies.

 

 

 

Computer Centre

The computer centre being the cynosure of the Institute is designed using the optimizing techniques to give working comfort to the students while operating on the computer. The computer centre is divided into two sections. The first section comprises of 75 systems with Dual Core Processors. The second section is basically structured to fulfill the requirements of Internet facilities. All computers are networked and loaded with latest software’s as per the requirements. The computer lab with 60 computers is connected through broadband service which provides very high speed internet access.

Library

Library is the integral part of any institution. Keeping this in mind much emphasis is laid on building a well stocked library which can provide solutions to the students’ queries. The Library is built on an area of 7500 sft and stacks 12000 volumes of books in the very first year of its inception. The library is divided into two sections, the issue section and the reference cum reading section which provide a pleasant atmosphere to the students . Apart from the course books, the library also contains books related to Humanities, Social Sciences, History, Mythology, Geography, Environment, etc. A range of national-international magazines, journals, CDs, DVDs and Educational videos are added features of the library which are indispensable in present scenario. The library is open for the students on all week days over a time span of thirteen hours a day.

Reprographic section: The reprographic section provides good support to administrative and educational tasks. A two colored automatic printing machine adequate to meet the institute’s requirements is available. The students are also benefited with the Xerox machine installed to meet their needs.

Boys and Girls Hostels

The boys and girls hostels are constructed according to the latest trends and give them a feeling of a home away from home. These hostels are built on an area of 31200 sft each giving quixotic and modern looks. The rooms are two seater and three seater capacity.  The mess is just adjacent to the respective hostels where they get hygienic breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a common room also above the mess have some indoor games like, Chess, Carom and Table Tennis. There is a big size TV also in the common room. The students can avail these common room facilities  in the evening over a duration for 5 hrs.
